Injection moulding process
Modern injection moulding process for precise plastic components in series production. High quality, efficient production & custom solutions.
Extruded plastic profiles – Efficient custom manufacturing
Injection moulding is one of the most economical and precise manufacturing techniques for plastic components. With our modern injection moulding technology, we enable the series production of highly precise and functional components with consistently high quality. Whether for small series or large-scale production – we deliver customised solutions that are precisely tailored to your requirements.
How does the injection moulding process work?
In injection moulding, plastic in granule form is heated until it transitions into a flowable state. The material is then injected under high pressure into a specially made mould, in which it cures and takes on the desired geometry. This automated process also makes it possible to manufacture complex structures with high repeat accuracy. After cooling, the finished component is removed, and the cycle begins again.
Precision and consistent quality
A major advantage of the injection moulding process lies in the high dimensional accuracy and repeat accuracy of the produced parts. Even delicate structures or complicated geometries can be realised with high precision. The process also enables the integration of additional functions such as threaded inserts or multi-component solutions in a single production step.
Material variety and individual adaptation
We process a wide range of plastics, including thermoplastics such as polyamide (PA), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP) and many other engineering plastics. Depending on the requirement, the material properties can be specifically adjusted using fillers, plasticisers or reinforcements such as glass fibres. This gives the components specific mechanical, thermal or chemical properties that are optimally matched to the intended use.
High cost-effectiveness and efficient series production
The injection moulding process is characterised by particularly high cost-effectiveness. Once the tool has been created, large quantities can be manufactured with minimal material loss and low unit costs. Multi-cavity tools also make it possible to produce several components simultaneously, which further reduces production time.
Sustainability and resource conservation
Modern injection moulding processes are designed to reduce material losses to a minimum. We also rely on recyclable plastics and energy-efficient machines in order to keep the ecological footprint as low as possible. In many cases, surplus material can be reused directly, which makes the process particularly sustainable.

Which plastics is injection moulding suitable for?
The injection moulding process is suitable for a wide range of plastics, which are selected according to requirements and area of application. Here are the most important types of plastic used for injection moulding:
| Plastic | Properties | Type | Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polypropylene (PP) | Light, chemical-resistant, cost-effective | Thermoplastic | Packaging, household goods, automotive parts |
| Polyethylene (PE-HD, PE-LD) | High toughness and flexibility, versatile | Thermoplastic | Containers, pipes, films |
| Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) | Impact-resistant, rigid, good processing properties | Thermoplastic | Housings for electrical appliances, automotive parts |
| Polystyrene (PS, HIPS) | Clear, brittle, easy to shape, cost-effective | Thermoplastic | Packaging, displays, toys |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | High impact resistance, transparent, heat-resistant | Thermoplastic | Protective glazing, medical technology, electronics |
| Polyamide (PA6, PA66) | Mechanically resilient, wear-resistant, chemical-resistant | Thermoplastic | Machine components, gears, automotive |
| Polyoxymethylene (POM) | High rigidity, very good sliding and wear properties | Thermoplastic | Gears, precision mechanisms |
| Polyethylene terephthalate (PET, PBT) | High strength, good electrical insulation | Thermoplastic | Food industry, medical technology, electrical engineering |
| Epoxy resins (EP) | Very high strength, temperature-resistant | Thermoset | Aerospace, electronics, composite materials |
| Phenolic resins (PF) | Chemical- and temperature-resistant, electrically insulating | Thermoset | Electrical components, insulators, housings |
| Melamine resins (MF) | Scratch-resistant, heat-resistant, robust | Thermoset | Kitchen surfaces, sockets, insulation |
| Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) | Combination of the elasticity of rubber and thermoplastics | Elastomer | Seals, grips, soft-touch surfaces |
| Silicones | Extremely flexible, heat-resistant, chemically inert | Elastomer | Medical technology, seals, household goods |
The suitable material depends on the desired properties of the component – such as strength, temperature resistance, flexibility or chemical resistance.
