Caprolactam

Caprolactam (C6H11ON) is a white, hygroscopic substance and serves as a precursor for polyamide 6 (PA 6). Polymerisation with the addition of catalyst and activator produces high-molecular-weight cast polyamide (PA 6 G) with balanced properties. Cast polyamides are high-molecular-weight polyamides that are produced without pressure and purely chemically. They offer high toughness combined with hardness, good abrasion resistance, damping properties and are easy to process.
