Friction materials
Tribomaterials are special plastics that stand out due to their improved sliding properties. These materials are developed in such a way that they minimise friction and wear, which makes them particularly suitable for applications where low friction and high wear resistance are required. The term tribomaterials is often used for plastics that contain dry lubricants.
These embedded dry lubricants, such as graphite, molybdenum disulfide or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), help to improve the sliding properties of the plastic by creating a lubricating surface. These properties make tribomaterials a preferred choice in many industrial applications, including the automotive, mechanical engineering and electronics industries.
