Polyphthalamide
Polyphthalamides, or PPA for short, belong to the family of semi-crystalline super polyamides and are produced using terephthalic and isophthalic acid. These chemical building blocks give the polyphthalamides their characteristic properties.
Particularly noteworthy are the reinforced polyphthalamides, also known as PPA GF. These materials are distinguished by their extraordinary heat resistance. The embedded glass fibres in PPA GF help to give the material a remarkable heat deflection resistance.
Through this combination of properties, reinforced polyphthalamides are in demand in various industrial applications, especially where extreme temperatures occur or high thermal stability is required.
