Condensation reaction
A condensation reaction is an important chemical process in which two molecules react with each other and a simple molecule such as water or ammonia is split off. This process leads to the formation of a new chemical compound by linking functional groups together.
The condensation reaction plays a decisive role in the production of many plastics. Polycondensation produces high-quality polymers such as polyamide, polyester and various epoxides. These materials are used in a wide range of applications, from textiles and packaging to building materials and electronic components.
