Film hinges and film joints

Film hinges and film joints are flexible, mechanism-free hinge joints that save costs and shorten assembly times. They consist of a thin hinge groove between two parts and are particularly suitable for injection-moulded polypropylene (PP) parts, as PP provides the necessary softness and ductility for lasting function.

Film hinges enable deliberate orientation of the material and offer high flexural fatigue strength. Other materials such as polyethylene (PE), ethylene/vinyl acetate (E/VA) or polyamides (PA) are suitable to a limited extent.
