DIN EN 15860
DIN 15860 is a standard that specifies detailed quality requirements and test methods for thermoplastic semi-finished products. These semi-finished products can take various forms, including rods, hollow rods and flat materials, which are used for machining further processing operations.
DIN EN 15860 is a further development of an earlier draft, namely EN 1549, which has since been withdrawn. This standard replaces a number of older standards, including:
- DIN 16809, which dealt with the dimensions of hollow rods made of polyethylene terephthalate (PETP) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBTP).
- DIN 16978, which defined the dimensions of hollow rods made of polyacetal (POM).
- DIN 16980, which focused on the dimensions of rods made of various thermoplastics.
- DIN 16983, which specified the dimensions of hollow rods made of polyamide (PA).
- DIN 16985, which described technical delivery conditions for semi-finished products made of thermoplastics.DIN 16986, which dealt with the dimensions of flat bars made of thermoplastics.
DIN EN 15860 updates and standardises the standards for these materials and ensures that the products meet the latest requirements and test methods.
