Blend

Blend is a short form of polymer blend, which means a mixture of at least two base polymers. The aim of blend technology is to combine the advantages of different plastics, and sometimes synergistic effects even occur. A well-known example is the housing material Bayblend (PC+ABS). Polymers are synthetic plastics that are produced by the polymerisation of monomers. Their molar mass is usually more than 10 kg/mol, while smaller compounds of monomers are referred to as oligomers.
