Powder-coated aluminium sheets: robust, coloured and versatile

Order powder-coated aluminium sheets in RAL colour – durable, weather-resistant and cut exactly to size. Discover the benefits & configure aluminium rods.

What is powder coating for aluminium sheets?

In powder coating, a dry powder coating is applied electrostatically to the aluminium surface and then baked at around 160–200 °C. The resulting layer is even, pore-free and particularly adherent. Depending on the powder mixture used, matt, satin-gloss or high-gloss surfaces can be achieved.

Advantages of powder coating

  • high UV and weather resistance
  • scratch- and impact-resistant
  • wide range of colours (e.g. RAL shades)
  • environmentally friendly (solvent-free)
  • lasting colour brilliance

Areas of application for powder-coated aluminium sheets

Powder-coated aluminium sheets are used wherever high visual requirements go hand in hand with functional resilience.

Façade cladding in outdoor areas

The high weather and UV resistance makes powder-coated aluminium sheets ideal for façades. They reliably protect against corrosion, offer a modern look and are available in almost any RAL colour.

Machine cladding and technical housings

In industrial applications, the sheets impress with their scratch resistance and chemical resistance. They protect machine components and at the same time ensure a neat external appearance.

Trade fair and shop fitting

Here, the first impression counts. Powder-coated aluminium sheets offer a large colour selection, can be cut precisely to size and look high-quality – ideal for temporary structures with a high visual impact.

Furniture and interior fitting

In interior areas too, the sheets impress with their robust, easy-care surface. Whether as fronts, partition walls or cladding elements – the possible applications are diverse.

Vehicle construction (e.g. floor plates, covers)

In vehicle and trailer construction, the sheets provide protection and a clean appearance. Thanks to the low weight of aluminium, the construction remains light and stable.

Thanks to the cut-to-size pieces, the sheets can be ordered directly in the desired size and shape. Even complex geometries or hole patterns can be realised.

Differences from anodised or untreated aluminium sheets

Anodised aluminium sheets have an electrochemically produced oxide layer that is particularly hard and transparent. However, it offers less colour variety and is usually inferior in terms of scratch resistance. Untreated aluminium sheets are more susceptible to oxidation and are only suitable for interior areas or if subsequent processing of your own is planned.

Powder-coated aluminium sheets therefore offer the best combination of protection, colour and durability.

Colour variants and coating thicknesses

The colour is applied using standardised RAL colours or individual custom colours.

Commonly used RAL colours

  • RAL 9016 (traffic white)
  • RAL 9005 (jet black)
  • RAL 7016 (anthracite grey)
  • RAL 3000 (flame red)

The coating thickness is usually between 60 and 120 µm. Thicker coatings are also possible for heavily stressed areas.

Ordering powder-coated aluminium sheets cut to size

Many suppliers produce cut-to-size pieces directly to customer specifications.

Possible configuration parameters

  • sheet size (length, width)
  • sheet thickness (e.g. 2, 3 or 4 mm)
  • holes, cut-outs, edge processing
  • colour selection according to RAL

A precise configuration saves time in further processing and reduces waste.

Aluminium rods as a suitable complement

For constructions, frames or support systems, aluminium rods are suitable, which can also be offered powder-coated. They can be cut exactly to length and enable stable connections or decorative accents. Cut-to-size pieces are also available here.

In conclusion

Powder-coated aluminium sheets offer an ideal combination of aesthetics and function. They are durable, weather-resistant, individually configurable and blend seamlessly into almost any technical or design project. Whether for façades, machine cladding or interior fitting: with aluminium sheets, aluminium rods and cut-to-size pieces, demanding requirements can be reliably met.
