syndiotactic
Syndiotactic arrangement refers to a precise structuring in which the side groups of macromolecules are arranged in a regular pattern. This arrangement occurs in an alternating sequence on both sides of the molecule.
A clear example of this is polypropylene, in which the side groups are arranged in a fixed, recurring pattern. In contrast to this is the atactic polymer structure, which is characterised by an irregular arrangement of the side groups, without a fixed pattern or a specific sequence.
