Centrifugal casting
Centrifugal casting is a method of monomer casting in which the still-liquid monomer, in this case caprolactam, is poured into a rapidly rotating mould. The high rotational speed of the mould creates centrifugal force, which presses the liquid caprolactam evenly against the inner walls of the mould. There the polymerisation process begins, in which the liquid monomer becomes a solid polymer.
This process leads to excellent mechanical properties of the semi-finished products and finished parts produced. Centrifugal casting creates a particularly dense structure in the material, which contributes to high strength and resistance. The even distribution of the material and the controlled polymerisation ensure that the parts produced are of high quality and are suitable for demanding applications.
