Infrared transparency
Infrared transparency refers to the ability of a material to penetrate rays in the infrared spectrum. This spectrum covers wavelengths between 10−3 m and 7.8×10−7 m. Materials that exhibit high infrared transmittance allow the passage of infrared rays through their structure, while they may be opaque to visible light and other wavelengths.
