Fossil raw materials
Fossil raw materials are natural carbon deposits that have developed over a long period from dead plants and animals. They include crude oil, natural gas and coal and are based on the carbon cycle. The use of these deposits makes it possible to utilise stored carbon reserves from past eras. An emerging development is the replacement of fossil raw materials with renewable, biomass-based alternatives.
