Volume resistivity
The volume resistivity, an important term in electrical engineering, is standardised in accordance with the standards of IEC 93. It is a fundamental characteristic value that plays a role in various areas of materials science and electrical engineering.
In order to understand volume resistivity, let us take a closer look at its formula: it is obtained from the measured volume resistance, which is measured in ohms (Ω), multiplied by the measuring area in square metres (m²) and then divided by the specimen length in metres (m).
