Compressed air forming
Pressure forming is an innovative technique that is widely used in the packaging industry and focuses on the shaping of thin plastic films. This method uses the pressure of air to create a mould that forms the material according to its design. Compared with conventional thermoforming, which works with a vacuum, pressure forming offers a reverse approach.
While in thermoforming the material is drawn into the mould by a vacuum, in pressure forming the air is directed specifically into the mould in order to push the plastic outwards and thus obtain the desired shape.
