Cellulose hydrate
Cellulose hydrate is a plant-based bioplastic that uses cellulose obtained from wood. It forms a thin-walled, colourless and transparent film with a characteristic crackling effect, which makes it particularly popular for sweet packaging. Its use dates back to the 1930s.
