Weld line
In a moulded part, a weld line is the re-joined flow fronts of the molten material that has been separated by an obstacle in the mould. They always form behind obstacles such as pins, inserts or wall-thickness steps. The quality of the weld line depends on various factors, including the moulding process, the material, additives as well as pressure and temperature during the re-joining.
