ABS sheet cut to size
We offer ABS sheet cut pieces in many sizes and individual dimensions. Our high-quality ABS sheets are ideal for numerous industrial applications and impress with their robustness and ease of further processing.
The material acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (short: ABS plastic) is available as a semi-finished product in the form of sheets and rods. These are extruded by leading manufacturers and are perfectly suited for further processing by milling, CO² lasers, drilling or sawing.
Our ABS sheets are suitable for numerous technical applications in industrial and mechanical engineering. The impact-resistant ABS plastic sheets can be easily milled, sawn, drilled and thermoformed. As a result, they are frequently used for housings, machine cladding, technical covers or in display construction. The dimensionally accurate ABS sheet cut to size allows individual formats and material thicknesses to be implemented flexibly. ABS sheets in 2 mm and 3 mm thickness are particularly in demand for light yet stable constructions.
Made-to-measure ABS sheet cutting
ABS sheets can be cut precisely to individual specifications and further processed in many ways. Due to their good machinability, the material is suitable for milling work, drilled holes, technical cut-outs or complex contours. ABS plastic sheets are used, among other things, in mechanical engineering, housing construction, display construction and for technical covers. Depending on the application, different material thicknesses and formats are possible. Dimensionally accurate ABS sheet cut pieces enable fast further processing and reduce additional machining effort in production.
| Thickness | Typical application |
|---|---|
| ABS sheet 2mm | Cladding, model making |
| ABS sheet 3mm | Housing construction, technical covers |
The advantages of ABS sheets
- Impact-resistant and hard: Compared with PVC sheets, ABS sheets are particularly resistant and offer excellent deep-drawing capability.
- Chemical resistance: ABS sheets are resistant to non-polar solvents such as diesel and petrol.
- Weather resistance: Our special ASA/ABS sheets are UV- and weather-resistant and are therefore ideally suited for outdoor use.
ABS plastic has an amorphous structure and exhibits the typical characteristics of amorphous plastics. This means that it has a wide thermal processing window and can be readily dissolved with organic solvents such as acetone. In addition, ABS sheets can be easily bonded and painted.
Physical properties of ABS plastic
ABS plastic has a density of 1.06g/cm³ and can be used in temperature ranges up to +90°C. The impact strength is 13KJ/m², which makes it an extremely resistant material. Pure ABS is not UV-resistant, but in combination with ASA sheets it is ideal for outdoor use.
Variety of ABS and ASA products
We offer a wide range of ABS and ASA sheets, including:
- ABS standard (matt, super-matt, glossy)
- ABS HH – increased heat resistance
- ABS flame-retardant (UL94 V-0)
- ABS/TPU blends
- ABS conductive
- ABS/ASA combinations
- ABS from recyclate
ABS plastic – the bridge between standard and high-performance plastics
The material ABS plastic combines the advantages of standard and high-performance plastics. It is characterised by high impact strength, surface hardness and excellent processability, even at low temperatures. In addition, ABS can be easily milled, drilled, sawn and bonded, which makes it a versatile material.
The special properties of ABS result from the combination of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene. This combination gives ABS sheets their unique material properties, such as high impact resistance and toughness. However, particularly impact-resistant ABS is not transparent, as the light is refracted by the embedded butadiene rubber beads.
However, there are transparent ABS types in which the rubber beads are so small that they do not refract the light. These variants also offer the typical advantages of ABS, including high impact resistance.
Milled parts and finished parts made of ABS plastic
With our modern CNC machines, we produce ABS sheet cut pieces to your individual specifications. Whether milling, laser cutting or forming – we can produce ABS sheets exactly to drawing. Thanks to our extensive stockholding, we are able to process both smaller and larger orders quickly and reliably.
For a precise quotation, we require details of the desired quantity as well as a drawing, sketch or design data. Further information can be found at: ABS laser parts.
ABS sheets – formats and versions
Our ABS sheets are available in the colours natural and black. Sheets up to 10 mm thickness are produced by extrusion. From a thickness of 10 mm upwards, production is carried out by the casting process, which also allows larger material thicknesses to be realised in high quality.
Available formats:
- 1,200 × 1,000 mm – thicknesses from 5 to 120 mm
- 1,000 × 600 mm – thicknesses from 5 to 120 mm
- 600 × 500 mm – thicknesses from 12 to 180 mm
