Thermoforming
Thermoforming, also known as the thermal forming process, represents a comparatively straightforward method with minimal machine effort. In contrast to most primary shaping processes in plastics processing, this is a forming process.
The essence of thermoforming lies in the targeted use of heat to soften thermoplastics and thus make them formable. This process makes it possible to rework plastic parts and semi-finished products by folding, bending, bulging, riveting or other shaping processes. The heating stations vary depending on the degree of automation and can include, for example, radiant heaters, industrial fan heaters or manually operated heat guns.
