Primary shaping
Primary shaping is an essential group of manufacturing processes defined in accordance with the guidelines of DIN 8580. It is a process that makes it possible to produce workpieces from a shapeless starting material.
This is achieved by creating a shape-forming cohesion of the material particles, which give the workpiece its desired form. At its core, primary shaping is about bringing the raw material into a specific shape without that shape already existing beforehand.
It is a creative act of shaping in which the material is manipulated in such a way that it takes on its final structure and function. This technique is used in various industries, from metalworking to the production of plastic products, and plays a decisive role in the production of highly precise parts and components.
