Tinting
Tinting describes an optically effective property of transparent plastic sheets and plastic lenses. These materials are characterised by a relatively high degree of selective absorption, which means that they absorb certain wavelengths of light more strongly than others. At the same time, they ensure non-diffuse light transmission, which means that the light passes through the material in a straight line and is not scattered.
As a result, the view through these plastic materials appears coloured, while the view remains clear and sharp. This property is often used to achieve aesthetic effects or to create specific lighting conditions without impairing the clarity of the view.
