Orbital friction welding
Orbital friction welding, a fascinating technique within the friction welding process, is similar to rotary friction welding, but with one important difference: the movement is limited to a circular oscillating motion, similar to the motion of an orbital sander.
This specific motion dynamic offers decisive advantages over other welding methods. Unlike rotary friction welding, orbital friction welding does not require the parts to be welded to perform a rotational movement. Instead, the components can simply be aligned and joined together during the welding process, which makes production more flexible and more precise.
