Morphology

Morphology is a fascinating field of science that deals with the shape, the forms and the ordering principles of materials. In materials science in particular, morphology plays a decisive role, as it provides insights into the structural nature of materials and thus supplies important information about their properties.

By analogy with metallography, which deals with the microscopic structure of metals, the study of the morphology of plastics is referred to as plastography. This discipline makes it possible to analyse the diverse forms and structures of plastics, to understand their properties and to optimise their processing.
