Laser transparency
Laser transparency refers to the ability of plastics to allow light in the wavelength range of laser beams to pass through, even if they appear opaque in the visible spectrum. This property is of great importance for numerous applications in the laser processing of plastics.
Increased laser transparency opens up a wide range of possibilities for efficient laser processing methods, in particular for laser transmission welding. Even thick sections of plastic parts can be processed with high efficiency and precision thanks to this improved transparency. This enables precise control and targeted processing of even complex components, which offers major advantages in various industries such as the automotive, electronics and medical technology sectors.
Through continuous research and development in this field, new materials and processes are constantly being discovered in order to further improve laser transparency and thereby increase the performance and versatility of laser processing methods in the plastics industry.
