Degree of crystallisation
The degree of crystallinity is an important parameter in materials science and describes the structure of a plastic. It indicates how much of the material consists of crystalline regions in relation to the total amount.
The degree of crystallinity, symbolised by ( w_c ) or ( x_c ), is usually determined by means of various measurement methods. Either the proportion of crystalline mass (( m_c )) or the mole fraction (( n_c )) is set in relation to the total mass (( m )) or the total amount of substance (( n )). This is a dimensionless quotient.
