Combination form
Combination moulds are versatile tools in manufacturing that have multiple cavities and can form at least two different workpieces in a single cycle. A classic example of this would be the production of the right and left half of a plastic housing in a single pass.
The use of combination moulds is a proven method of reducing unit costs. However, it is important to emphasise that their efficiency depends heavily on product quality. For a combination mould to be used sensibly, the cavities must be very similar and an intelligent arrangement of the gate points as well as a sufficient supply must be ensured.
