Piston injection moulding machine
The plunger injection moulding machine, an important component in the field of primary shaping of plastic parts, is characterised by its ability to exert the injection pressure for shaping the workpieces on the plastic mass through a powerful plunger movement.
Originally, plunger machines were the dominant technology for the injection moulding of plastics. However, from 1956 onwards, the screw machine began to almost completely displace the plunger injection moulding machine. This happened because of its ability to plasticise the plastic more gently and homogeneously, which led to more efficient and more precise shaping.
