Buckling
Buckling is a sudden loss of stability in straight or slightly curved rods or other elongated plastic parts under compression. This can occur along the longitudinal axis or through bending moments transverse to it. Measures against this include reinforcing ribs or buckling-resistant materials such as plastics with long glass fibres.
