Cold drawing
Cold drawing, also known as cold flow, describes a process in which a material is deformed below its softening temperature. This technique is used in various industrial applications, from metalworking to plastics manufacturing. The material is reshaped by external forces such as pressure or tension without having to be heated.
This method enables the production of products with precise dimensions and properties while at the same time maintaining high material strength. In metalworking, for example, cold drawing can be used to produce thinner yet robust wires or sheets. It is an important process that plays a central role in many industries and offers an efficient way to bring materials into the desired shape without changing their molecular structure.
