Isotactic
Isotactic means the ordered arrangement of the side groups of macromolecules such as polypropylene, in contrast to atactic. Such molecules form crystals more easily, which influences important properties of thermoplastics, such as hardness and melting point. Isotactic polypropylene is preferred for technical plastic parts, as it is more crystalline than atactic or syndiotactic polypropylene.
