Insert technology
Insert technology is a process in which a reinforcement, also known as an "insert", is incorporated into a thermoplastic base material. An insert can be made from various materials, depending on the requirements of the application. A typical example is a brass threaded bush that is inserted into a plastic part to create a stable threaded connection. These inserts serve to improve the strength, durability and functionality of the end product.
They also enable versatile application, as different materials with different properties can be used as required. Insert technology makes it possible to produce complex components that utilise the advantages of both plastics and metallic materials. This process is used in various industries, from the automotive and electronics industry through to medical technology and household appliance manufacturing.
