Industrial carbon black
Industrial carbon black is a specially manufactured, loose and powdery carbon black with defined properties. It is typically produced by the incomplete combustion of oils using the flame, gas or furnace process and has an average particle size of 10 to 100 nm. Industrial carbon black is mainly used in rubber reinforcement for products such as car tyres and seals. In plastics processing, it serves primarily as a colour pigment (carbon black), UV protection and conductivity improver.
