Non-polar compound
A homopolar bond is a type of chemical bond between two atoms that is formed by the exchange of one or more pairs of electrons. These electrons are provided by the respective atoms and thus form a shared electron cloud that holds the atoms together. In other words, the cohesion between the atoms arises from the sharing of electrons, which creates a stable bond.
This type of bond occurs when two atoms join together and in doing so share electrons in order to complete or stabilise their outer electron shell. Through this shared electron cloud, the electrostatic attractive forces between the positively charged atomic nuclei and the negatively charged electrons are neutralised, which leads to the formation of a stable molecular structure.
