Bright-field observation
Bright field and dark field are two terms used in morphology to visualise different types of structures. Bright field is optimal for displaying coloured, reflective or absorbing structures. Here, these structures are imaged on a brighter background, which highlights their properties more clearly.
In contrast, dark field is particularly well suited to displaying line-like structures such as edges and cracks. These fine details might not become sufficiently visible in bright field. In dark field, the structures are visualised on a darker background, making them high in contrast and clearly recognisable. It is an effective method for emphasising these subtle features and enabling a more precise analysis.
