Semi-finished product
Semi-finished products are prefabricated raw materials that come in various forms such as rods, hollow rods, flat bars, sheets and films. These materials are essentially blanks that do not yet have the final shape or size required for the finished part. They are further processed using various machining methods such as material-removing processes, i.e. the removal of material, to produce the desired finished parts.
Rods, for example, are cylindrical semi-finished products that often serve as the starting material for precision parts. Hollow rods, on the other hand, have an internal hollow structure and are particularly useful for applications where lightness and stability are required. Flat bars are plate-like semi-finished products with a rectangular cross-section and are frequently used in the construction of components. Sheets and films are flat semi-finished products that are often used as the basis for the manufacture of cladding, packaging or electronic components.
