Interfacial energy
Interfacial energy, also known as surface energy, is important when printing on or bonding plastic parts. It describes the wettability of the surface. Polar surfaces with high energy offer better adhesion for printing ink or adhesive than non-polar surfaces.
When printing, the interfacial energy of the surface should be at least as great as the surface tension of the printing ink.
