Plain bearing
Plain bearings are important elements in machines and mechanisms that enable low-friction, sliding movement of components. These bearings play a decisive role, as they allow other parts to move in or on the sliding element without requiring complex mechanical connections.
A plain bearing consists of a sliding element that, depending on the application, must be lubricated either internally (dry lubrication) or externally (lubrication with oil or grease) in order to reduce friction. This lubrication is crucial to minimise wear and increase the service life of the bearing.
