Joining
Joining, as defined by the DIN 8580 standard, comprises a versatile group of manufacturing processes that serve to connect several workpieces to one another in a permanent manner. It is an essential process in the manufacturing industry, widely used in various sectors such as mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and electronics.
In joining, workpieces are brought together by various mechanisms, such as welding, adhesive bonding, riveting or screwing. Each of these processes has its own specific applications, advantages and limitations, which must be taken into account depending on the requirements of the end product.
