Manufacturing types
The production types according to the criterion of quantity include one-off production, batch production, variant production and mass production. One-off production refers to the individual manufacture of plastic parts or cast blanks to customer order.
Batch production involves the production of a limited number of identical parts in accordance with customer requirements. In variant production, different variants of the same semi-finished products are manufactured one after another for the stock programme. Mass production, by contrast, aims to manufacture an unlimited quantity of specific semi-finished products for the production programme, which are then stored in the semi-finished products warehouse.
