Fibre-plastic composite
Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) is a fascinating material that is created by combining fibres with a plastic matrix. These fibres can consist of a wide variety of materials such as glass, carbon or aramid and are embedded in the plastic matrix. The fibres act as reinforcing elements, while the plastic matrix gives them stability and at the same time protects them from external influences.
This combination produces a composite material that offers a unique combination of strength, lightness and formability. FRP is used in numerous applications, from aerospace to automotive engineering and sports equipment, where its outstanding mechanical properties play a decisive role.
