Colourants
Colourants are substances that colour plastics and coatings. Colour pigments are solid particles, with titanium dioxide and carbon black being examples. Speciality pigments are encapsulated colourants with special properties that can cause colour changes or transparency changes under physical or chemical influences. There are various types such as photochromic, fluorescent and thermochromic pigments, which each react to light, UV light or temperature.
