elastic
Elastic materials possess the remarkable property of being flexible and stretchable under the application of force. This flexibility allows them to deform without permanently altering their structure. It is as if they adapt to external pressure and can nevertheless retract back into their original shape once the force subsides.
This behaviour makes them extremely useful for a wide range of applications where a certain elasticity is required, whether in industry, construction or even in biology. The ability to be elastic is not only a question of material composition, but also one of the structure and make-up of the material that enable it to behave in this way.
