E/VA
E/VA, according to DIN EN ISO 1043-1, stands for ethylene/vinyl acetate. It is a copolymer based on polyethylene that increases elasticity. This gives it greater weather resistance, better stress-crack resistance and rubber-elastic properties. However, its chemical resistance is lower compared with pure polyethylene. It is often used for seals, bellows and closures. As a foamed sponge rubber, E/VA is also known for its largely closed cells.
