Thermoset
Thermosets are chemically curing plastics that react by polycondensation to form a solid, irreversible network of macromolecules. Unlike thermoplastics, they cannot be melted and retain their strength even at high temperatures. They are known for their hardness, rigidity, heat resistance and low expansion, which results in high dimensional stability. Examples include phenolic resins, melamine resins, polyurethanes and surface coatings.
