Direct connection

Direct screw fastening means that the screw forms or cuts the thread as it is driven in. Self-forming screws are ideal for thermoplastics, while self-tapping screws should be avoided. These screws use the plastic properties of thermoplastics to form the thread, which leads to high load capacity and self-locking. As a result, additional screw locking devices are usually unnecessary.

Direct screw fastening also allows maintenance through repeated loosening and tightening of the screws. Various self-forming screws, such as the EJOT DELTA PT screw®, the b&m-Plast® and the STS screw®, are offered on the supplier market and are an economical method of thread forming in thermoplastic components and housings.
