Load-bearing capacity
Opacity refers to the ability of a paint to completely hide or cover the colour of the substrate. It shows the effectiveness of a paint or a colourant in concealing the natural colour of the substrate and forming an even, opaque layer.
In other words, opacity describes how well a paint or a dye is able to hide a particular colour or surface and apply a new colour or texture without the original colour or structure of the substrate showing through. This property is particularly important for achieving uniform and attractive surfaces in various applications, whether in painting or when applying coatings to plastics or other materials.
