Bioplastics
Bioplastics are made from plant biomass or other renewable raw materials. This biomass is produced by photosynthesis, in which plants convert carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and water into hydrocarbon compounds. This development towards alternative carbon sources from biomass is being driven forward by the targeted cultivation of plants in agriculture, and biowaste such as chicory waste is also used.
