ASA
ASA, the abbreviation for acrylonitrile/styrene/acrylate according to DIN EN ISO 1043-1, is an impact-resistant copolymer with properties similar to ABS, but with better weather resistance. The acrylate is evenly distributed in a styrene-acrylonitrile polymer (SAN) and bonded by grafted SAN chains.
ASA forms high-quality, matt-gloss and scratch-resistant surfaces and is resistant to aqueous chemicals. It is mainly used for housing components in outdoor areas, such as claddings, control panels and housings.
